Welcome To From Sisters To Sisters!

We have created this blog to build a supportive, amazing community of women going through this particular stage of life.  What stage, you ask? The middle page, the stage where parenting is tough and so is taking care of your parents.  You might be thriving in your career, thinking of changing your career completely, or maybe you are trying to juggle being at home with your littles and everything that comes with that.

What you will find here are real-life stories and strategies for everything from aging, health and career to marriage and parenting and everything in between.  We want to tackle it all, give you the resources that make you feel connected, more informed and confident and help you thrive in this beautiful, messy time of our lives.  We believe that a strong community of sisters, whether that is your actual sister, a best friend or a cousin, can do just about anything.

Lisa
Lisa here. I am a daughter, wife, mother and sister. I am in my late 40's and in the primetime of chaos in my life. I have been married for over 2 decades to a babe and am a mom to 3 boys. I work full time in advertising and love my job and the people I work with.
My sister and I have been extremely lucky that we have such a close bond and friendship… I do not take this for granted. This blog comes out of 3 years of tough struggle caring for our dying mother and hours and hours we have spent talking about life and some of its challenges. We realized there are many women that are in this phase or entering this phase and wanted to build a community. This blog is hopefully a support to you and a community that can help and empower other women as they enter midlife. We are not alone sisters!

Jody
Hi everyone. I am the other half of Sisters to Sisters- Jody. I am also a daughter, sister, mother and wife. Here is a little peek at what my life looks like right now. I am the mother of tween twin girls, I have been married for 15 years and I work teaching at our community college and as a counsellor in private practice (currently on a sabbatical).

Those three years of taking care of our mom were tough years; they stretched us in ways we could never have imagined. Lisa and I spent countless hours sitting in hospital and emergency rooms and at our mom’s side just talking. We talked about work/life balance (which we had none of for those 3 years), parenting, health and wellness, taking care of aging parents, marriage, friendship and everything else in between. We looked for resources for women our age who were trying to balance all of these things and found almost nothing. So, we decided to create our own!
If you have any ideas about what you would like to see or need, email us. We’d love to hear from you.

In sisterhood,
Lisa & Jody
